So, I'm watching The league of Extraordinary Gentlemen and remembered that I really like Capt. Nemo's car.... It's just so over the top!

That's the Tyrrell P34 Homologation Special.

You mean they built it? I thought it was just a CGI thing.

I actually really like that movie. It sure gets a lot of hate though. I remember Van Helsing came out around the same time and everybody seemed to love that, but I thought the Jekyll/Hyde in that looked like shit.

I didn't care for Van Helsing. I like the idea of this, it's like the Avengers v.1.0

some of it was a real car seen here:

and some of it was a modified radio controlled car. I remember reading an article about it in Rc Car Action just before the movie came out, and at the end of the VHS was a special about the making of the big venice chase scene where they used the model.

Nope. All practical effects, surprisingly.

I'm glad to hear that. Too many movies rely too much on CGI now. Props seem to give the movies a depth that it just can't replicate.

I liked this, and Van Helsing...and Waterworld...and Pacific Rim...and anything that was panned but still awesome because critics can suck it.

Look up the Tyrell P34. It was a joke.

There's a guy named Captain Nemo with a huge car with oceanic stuff on it? Awesome "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" reference.

I take it you've not seen the movie?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one.

Nope.

It is from a movie called The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, think of it like the Avengers only using 19th century characters.

My only complaint on Waterworld was that if the world had flooded and had been that way long enough for humans to mutate to the point og growing gills... then those cigarettes the smokers seemed to have an endless supply of must have been really, really stale.
And speaking of other panned movies with Kevin Costner, I actually liked The Postman.

It's not just a reference, it's supposed to be *that* Captain Nemo.
